Superchunk played a free show yesterday at Williamsburg’s McCarren Park Pool, the first in this summer’s series of pool parties at the popular waterless swimming hole. We obviously don’t need to tell you how great this band is. You know how people say when Morrissey sings, it feels like his lyrics were written just for them? Mac MacCaughn is like the non-British indie rock version of that. They played lots of old hits like “Hyper Enough,” “Driveway to Driveway,” “Kicked In,” “Seeds Toss,” “Hello Hawk,” “Slack Motherfucker,” “Precision Auto,” and more, and they also played a song Mac said would be included on an upcoming single. Seeing them makes me wish it was 1995 again. More photos after the fold.
