What a Babe: Amy Tichenor

On the days on which I feel the most exhausted, stressed-out and generally discouraged about my oh-so-busy life, I try to think of my overachieving female friends, and remind myself that answering phones isn’t that hard and I should probably quit my bitching and get back to work. Amy is one of the girls I think about. She’s a combination personal assistant/nanny (for Deirdre Featherstone, owner of Featherstone Design,) full-time Anthropology student at Columbia, and jewelry maker/designer. She’s also a Vice Do in their latest issue, in case you’re into that kind of thing (and I know you are.)

But anyway, back to that jewelry. Amy started to make her own pieces when she realized she could take advantage of all the resources she had at her fingertips working for a jewelry designer. She started wanting to design a two-finger ring baring her nickname, Aimsly, and eventually started to experiment with different styles, including her signature design which has a heart carved in the middle.

Amy has also been working on making spray paint cap necklaces, which sound cooler than anything I could ever dream up. On top of all of that, she’s retardedly pretty. Life is jus not fair for us Plain Janes. You can get quotes and place orders with Amy on her myspace.
